“Thoughts Become Things” presented by Jermaine Clark, Makeda Lewis, & Katie Jones

MINT believes that art brings the world to life. In this spirit, we serve emerging artists and arts enthusiasts through our residency program, exhibitions, community partnerships, and other outreach. We invite risk taking, encourage curiosity, and advance brilliant and challenging work.
During this project, I was tasked to created: 
• One 30-40 second promo video (to be shared on Instagram and Facebook) 
• One postcard (front & back)
Process:
The title "Thoughts Become Things" was decided on collectively by the interns showing their work in this show. 
• Video
     Under the pressure of a 5 day time limit and exhibition set up, all interns spent late hours at the studio mapping the position of each piece of work as well as planning event advertisement. Having spent 6 months learning the ins and outs of nonprofit gallery infrastructure, it only seemed fitting to share video footage of our show's planning and hanging process. 
• Postcard
     I took this into consideration by minimizing the words "Thoughts Become" and emphasizing the word "Things". The word "Things" was visually representative of their works for the cover of the postcard. This gave each of the artists an equal opportunity for representation as well as directly displaying their art for a single exhibition.
